Many people are surprised to learn the Montclair History Center exists on a tiny, shoestring budget of approximately $225,000 per year. Those funds are used to maintain our four historic houses, keep our library and archives open, and produce and implement adult and children’s programs. As an independent, not-for-profit 501c3 organization, we are not part of the township, nor do we receive township funds. Preserving Montclair’s rich history, educating others about its importance, and sharing the stories of the people who made Montclair what it is today depends on your generosity.
