Public Museum Hours

The Crane House and Historic YWCA museum is open the 2nd and 3rd Sundays from 1 to 4 pm. It is located at 110 Orange Road. 

The Nathaniel Crane House is also open the 2nd and 3rd Sundays from 1 to 4 pm. It is located at 110 Orange Road at the rear of the driveway.

The Shultz House museum is open the 3rd Sunday of each month, May through December, from 1 to 4 pm. It is located at 30 North Mountain Avenue. 

Admissions for public tours

On Sundays: $6/adult; $5/student & senior with valid ID; $4/child. All members are free.

On the Second Sunday for Family FunDay: $10/family.  Family memberships are free.


Archives and Library

The  Albert P. Terhune library is open during our office hours, Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. We are occasionally offsite for programming and events. Please contact our staff if you plan to stop by or would like to make a library appointment.

The archives and library are located in the Clark House at 108 Orange Road. When you visit, you may park in the parking lot and come in the back door.

We love to bring people through our homes.  If the public hours are not convenient for you, please call 973-744-1796 or send a note to to schedule a private or group tour.

Admissions for private tours

  • For one museum (either the Crane House and Historic YWCA or the Shultz House): $12/adult; $10/senior/student; $8/child; under 2 free
  • For both museums: $20/adult; $16 senior/student; $12/child; under 2 free
  • If you’re interested in adding a hearth cooking demonstration, we’re happy to arrange it, however an additional fee for food may apply. Contact our staff to discuss.
