History Happy Hour: Week One

Virtual Event.

Grab your mortar and pestle and get ready to make some historic drinks! The Crane House & Historic YWCA spans over 150 years, from the early beginnings of America in the 1700s to the groovy styles of the 1960s. Each week, the Montclair History Center will focus on a different room and time period of the house while tasting the historic offerings of the time.

Each week will feature a Beverage Expert to show you how to make the drinks and tell you a little about the history of beverages. Week One’s Beverage Expert will be Sam Freeman: Sam has been working in New York City restaurants for the last ten years with a focus on fine dining. Though stationed in the kitchen for the better part of that decade (including four years at Michelin-starred Del Posto), he made a transition to the front of house via a sommelier apprenticeship program at the Grand Award winning The Modern. Sam brings experience training restaurant staff on the stories behind wines, cocktails and spirits and is excited to share his knowledge during the virtual happy hour!

Week One: Colonial Era: Switchel and Shrub

Tickets are $10/week and can be purchased using the link above. Ticket sales have been extended right up until 5pm!
