Thursdays 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, & 5/27 from 9:30am - 11:00am.
This 6-week program invites children to discover architectural history through guided walking tours of Montclair’s neighborhoods. Students will explore the Pine Street Historic District, the Estate Section (South Mountain Ave), the First Estate Section (South Fullerton/Prospect Terrace), and Erwin Park while learning about the unique architecture that defines each area. From historic storefronts and train stations to distinctive homes, buildings, and community landmarks, children will use their imagination to sketch, recreate, and design projects inspired by the architectural styles, details, and stories they encounter on their tours. On the final day, students will gather at the Crane House & Historic YWCA to showcase their creations.
This program is designed for children ages 10 - 16. A guardian is encouraged to attend each class with their student. As class space is limited, registration is required in advance.
Cost: $300 per child for the entire series (supplies included). Individual class registration is not available. Registration ends April 20th at 11:55pm.
