In 2025, the New Jersey Cultural Trust Board approved a total of $1,001,964 in financial stabilization grants to 37 nonprofit history and humanities organizations in 14 counties. The program provides financial support to assist organizations in addressing the financial and institutional challenges that threaten their stability, and to help build greater operational capacity for organizations to manage and advance their work.
The Montclair History Center has been awarded a $37,975 grant from the New Jersey Cultural Trust to onboard a Development Manager, a new staff position that will strengthen the organization's long-term sustainability. Like many small cultural institutions, the Montclair History Center is working to diversify its funding sources for both daily operations and public programming. The Development Manager will lead and expand the organization's capacity to secure the resources it needs to better serve Montclair and the surrounding communities. In May, the Montclair History Center welcomed new Development Manager Jeannette Wicks to our team.
